Food for thought

Some of yall Georgia Techies might remember that Hunger Awareness Banquet we went to, where we all drew slips of paper out of a hat. It was supposed to represent the uneven allocation of global resources. I don't remember all the particulars, but most of us (there was maybe 30?) drew the Poverty slip so we had to sit on the floor eating beans and rice (which I remember to be actually pretty good). I think around two people drew "rich" and got a three course meal with chicken and salad and rich people food.

I've been thinking about that one incident recently, especially since I eat that meal of beans and rice at least once a week with my homestay family. Just thought that was interesting.

please forgive my cheesy title.

Haha, I do remember that! I was there with you! You are right, the rice and beans that we had was pretty good. I wonder how they make it...
